1. We have been making Tri-5 reproduction parts longer than anybody else. In 1973 we needed parts for the cars that we were building. So we know what you need in reproduction parts. Quality parts that look right, fit right, and last. Quality reproduction parts from an enthusiast!
2. From the beginning our focus has been on quality tooling. You cannot make quality parts with cheap tooling. We are a leader in stainless steel parts; parts that GM made in stainless, and parts that they should have made in stainless. Beautiful, long-lasting, relatively maintenance free stainless steel. As stainless is harder than regular steel or die cast parts, you can’t begin to form them unless you have high quality tooling. Some folks spend money on advertising. We spend the $$ on tooling!
3. All of our die casting is done with the hot chamber method. The dies and the metal must both be raised to a certain temperature before, and each time, you cast a part. It is a slower process and requires excellent tooling. While it is more costly and slower, it yields a very consistent high quality part, which is strong and light. This is much like the factory did. The cold chamber process (used by some manufacturers) can utilize cheaper tooling and produces parts faster, but with a fairly high inconsistency and high reject rate. The parts also tend to be heavier; not normally a good thing with car parts! Our diecast parts are manufactured, polished and plated in the U.S.A.
